The Bushikan Budo Kyokai was formed by Franco Sanguinetti Sensei
with the purpose not only to preserve and promote the true essence
of the traditional Okinawan martial arts of Goju Ryu Karate and Matayoshi
Kobudo, but equally important to implement into our society the many
moral values that those two arts teaches beside the physical aspect
of it.
The Bushikan Budo Kyokai is the head organization that works as an
umbrella for the Matayoshi Kobudo Kodokan International and the Budo
Centre Inc. The Bushikan organization is dedicated primarily to implement
all the Karate and Self-Defense programs, meanwhile the M.K.K.I. organization
focuses to promote the art of Matayoshi Kobudo through all the dojo
(martial arts schools) affiliated with our organization around
the world.
Sanguinetti Sensei strongly believes in the importance of education,
a statement easy to see through all the many events that not only
he promotes but that he teaches every year through the Bushikan Budo
Kyokai and the Matayoshi Kobudo Kodokan International. As Sanguinetti
Sensei believes so much in education he does not want to see anyone
ever being denied by financial limitations. Unfortunately through
his extensive traveling, he has seen firsthand how many good people
are not able to obtain proper training due to the lack of financial
resources. In his effort to try to help, Sanguinetti Sensei has established
our Budo Centre as a Non-Profit Organization to be able to request
grants and donations to support our local schools and dojos affiliated
with low financial resources.
one of the most emphatic beliefs of Sanguinetti Sensei is that our
children are the future of our country, and because of that we should
focus on their correct upbringing. Unfortunately in our modern society
our children are growing up day by day exposed to many negative moral
values bringing as a natural consequence that parents have to deal
with problems that previous generations did not have. Sanguinetti
Sensei also believes the problems our society is suffering from right
now are not going to have an easy fix, nor that one person alone is
going to be able to do it, but if we all do our little part in our
daily life we together can make a big difference. Choosing not to
do anything makes us a part of the problem.
It is with
this in mind that Sanguinetti Sensei in his 45 years of active practice
of the traditional martial arts has focused his energy mainly on promoting
education; not only in our youth but also in adults. He has no doubts
in his mind that teaching children of a young age the moral values
proper of the traditional martial arts can be an excellent way to
empower those children with good tools to become a positive part of
society. Sanguinetti Sensei constantly teaches children with values
such as respect, discipline, to pay attention to adults, to try their
best where ever they go, to help others, and overall to become a positive
element in society.
Sanguinetti Sensei's commitment to help our society, especially helping
our youth, is easy to see through his dedicated work. His work in
the USA spreads from day care level, to elementary school level, to
college level, and to private level.
He has
been teaching at his Bushikan Dojo in San Diego since 1986, After
School Programs at elementary schools from the San Marcos Unified
School District since 1994. As a result of his reputation and commitment
to our community Sanguinetti Sensei was authorized in 1997 by the
then Superintendent
of the San Marcos School District,
Dr. Larry Maw to teach his Bushikan Self-Defense Program at
the local elementary schools which he taught for 10 years.
Outside
the USA Sanguinetti Sensei travels to support dojo affiliated in 14
countries by teaching training events. To visit the list of dojo affiliated
